A community supported
mission

Since 1985, STARS has provided emergency care and transport to over 21,000 critically ill and injured patients. Putting time on the patient's side is what is most important, and we strive to achieve this by providing access to advanced medical care to those who need it most, when they need it most.

We assist by bringing highly trained critical care teams and the technology of the emergency department directly to the patient. Our air medical crews can then begin providing advanced care on board the helicopter as we transport the patient to a major hospital.

In 2012, we will increase our capacity to assist patients. We will have our first new AW139 helicopter, which flies farther and faster than our current fleet. We will also be broadening our horizons to offer services in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Please note that proceeds from the STARS Lottery in Alberta will continue to support the services provided from our Alberta bases. To the right, you will see a map that illustrates the anticipated Alberta coverage area with the new AW139 helicopter.

STARS flies an average of four missions a day in Alberta, and we could not continue to do this without your support of the STARS Lottery. Thank you for helping make a difference in many lives, every day.
