Completed ticket order forms can only be dropped off at STARS bases in Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie and the Lethbridge office.
Q How many tickets are sold in total?
A: 50,000 single tickets for $25

Q What methods of payment are accepted?
A: Cheque, Money Order, VISA and MasterCard. Direct Debit is available at the showhomes only
Q What is the mailing address to purchase tickets?

Q Is there an age restriction on purchasing tickets?
A: Yes. Ticket purchasers must be 18 years of age or older
Q If I am not a resident of Alberta can I still purchase a ticket?
A: Yes, however the sale must take place in the province of Alberta
Q How long does it take to receive an official ticket in the mail?
A: Please allow 2-3 weeks
Q Is the ticket tax deductible/do you get a tax receipt?
A: No, there is no tax receipt issued as Revenue Canada deems that the purchase of a ticket is not a donation. All lottery winnings are tax free.
Q How many names can be put on a ticket?
A: Up to two names on a ticket. Should there be more than two purchasers, the purchasers must keep a record of who is involved in the purchase. Lottery management will not be responsible for any conflict between multi ticket purchasers. In the event of a winning ticket stub having more than one name, lottery management will award the prize to the first individual whose name is listed on the ticket confirmation stub.
Q Can a ticket be refunded?
A: Yes. However, if any ticket purchased has been entered in any draw, no refund will be issued after the draw has taken place.
Q Who is prohibited from purchasing tickets?
A: Contest rules prohibit the following people from purchasing tickets:
Board Members and Executive Management Staff of STARS
Staff of Stride Management Corp.
Staff of Black Fund Development Inc.
All employees and family members living in the same household for all of the above
CUT-OFF DATES AND DRAW DATES
Q What are the cut-off dates and draw dates?
A: Loyalty Draw cut-off date: Midnight January 19, 2010 Draw Date: February 4, 2010
Early Bird Draw cut-off date: Midnight March 17, 2010 Draw Date: April 6, 2010
Final Draw cut-off date: Midnight April 7, 2010 Draw Date: April 23, 2010
Q If the tickets sell out early when will the draws be held?
A: Should all tickets be sold out by midnight March 17, 2010 all remaining draws will be made on April 6, 2010 upon approval of Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.
Q Where will the draws take place?
A: All three manual draws (Loyalty, Early Bird and Final) will be under the supervision of Black Fund Development Inc., Stewart and Associates and Stride Management Corp. They take place at 3950 – 12th Street NE, Calgary AB T2E 8H9. Any person wishing to view the draws may do so by attending at the above location(s) on the draw date(s).
Top 10 Prizes starting with the prize of lowest value up to the #1 Grand Prize will be drawn at the Calgary Showhome and covered live on Channel 7 Global TV's Breakfast show.

WINNERS
Q How and when will the winners’ names be available?
A: A list of the top ten winners will be published in major newspapers in Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Red Deer and Grande Prairie and a full searchable list will be posted on the STARS Lottery website (www.starslottery.ca) approximately 10 days after the final draws.
Q How will winners be notified?
A: All winners will be notified in writing by Stride Management Corp. and in some cases by telephone by STARS representatives about what they have won and how to claim the prize. If a winner cannot be notified after a period of one year from the draw date, the prize or equivalent cash value will be donated to a charitable beneficiary approved by Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission.
Q Are ticket purchasers eligible for all prizes?
A: Ticket purchasers are eligible for all 3,080 prizes provided they purchase before any draw deadline. After each draw the winning ticket will be returned to the drum and is eligible for all remaining prizes.
Q Do prizes have to be accepted “as is”?
A: Prizes must be accepted as awarded. There will be no cash “in lieu of” option. Restrictions apply for the following prizes: Travel – All travel prizes provided by UNIGLOBE Geo Travel Group are valid for one year from draw date. Extensions will be granted upon request; however, some restrictions may apply for certain prizes. Blackout dates may apply to all Travel prizes. Lottery prizes are tax-free and winners are not obligated to live in the show home.

LOTTERY MANAGEMENT
Q Who is the project manager?

Q Who does the operational support for the Lottery?
A: Stride Management Corp., 3950 – 12th Street NE, Calgary AB T2E 8H9 is responsible for the processing of all ticket requests, issuing and mailing of tickets to ticket purchasers, maintaining the website, supervising the draws and notifying all winners in writing. They also manage the Call Centre at the address above.

Q How many 2010 STARS Lottery brochures will be mailed out?
A: Beginning on January 2, approximately 250,000 brochures and letters will be pre-mailed to 2008 and 2009 previous lottery ticket purchasers followed by a 1.2 million lottery brochure drop to households throughout Alberta starting January 20.

A: The 2010 lottery will be the 17th annual lottery.
Q What is the net revenue expected at sell-out of the 2010 Lottery?
A: The 2010 lottery will net over $10 million at sell-out.
Q How will the proceeds from the STARS Lottery be used?
A: The proceeds from the 2010 STARS Lottery will be donated to the STARS Society to help cover direct costs of providing an air ambulance program including wages, maintenance, fuel, communications, training, insurance and facility rent.
